City Hall Tours
City Hall Tours – A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Local Government!
Would you like to bring your classroom lessons on civics, leadership, and community to life? The City of Yucaipa proudly offers City Hall Tours, a hands-on and interactive experience designed especially for local school groups.
Students will step inside the heart of city government and get a fun, educational glimpse at how their city works and meet the people who help make it happen!
What to Expect on Your City Hall Tour:
Your visit to City Hall kicks off in the official council chambers where big decisions are made! Students will enjoy a short presentation about how local government works, complete with a slideshow introducing Yucaipa’s executive team and their department functions. On select days, the Mayor may stop by for a live Q&A, a great opportunity for students to ask questions and share their ideas!
Next, students will head into the staff area for a guided walk-through where they can interact with real City Hall staff and see them working in real-time to keep the City of Yucaipa running smoothly. You may even meet an Engineer at the counter reviewing plans, a Building & Safety Technician processing a permit, a Code Enforcement Officer reviewing the Municipal Code, and they are always happy to answer any questions.
Always a crowd favorite, we wrap up the visit just outside at beautiful Tooker Park, where students can interact with first responders and their response vehicles. Students can also enjoy hands-on planning activities and make suggestions for what they would like to see in their city. Fun play stations provided by our wonderful Community Services team truly make this an unforgettable field trip experience!
“Our third graders had a fantastic visit to City Hall, an impressively well-organized field trip that brought local government to life. Students learned about their community council, met the Mayor and discovered how essential services are managed. It was a highly engaging experience that introduced the concept of civic responsibility to young students!”
